The Ostsee Baumhaushotel Schleswig-Holstein specialises in overnight stays in tree houses on the Baltic Sea - with tree houses that can be lived in all year round, a private bathroom, heating and a private wellness area. Why this place exists

This tree house hotel was not created because there was a trend.
But because it was a place that worked on its own.

Where today there are tree houses at treetop level, there used to be a farm in a mature, hilly landscape. Wide, quiet, unspoilt. And that was precisely the starting point for a simple but crucial question:
What does a place need for people to really arrive here?

The answer was not a grand concept, but a clear attitude.
Fewer houses. More distance.
Less programme. More tranquillity.
Architecture that blends in - not imposes.

Our tree house lodges and tree house lofts have taken shape from this attitude.

as a conscious retreat for people who want to experience nature rather than consume it.
For guests who appreciate design, allow silence and do not need to fill their time in order to find it valuable.

What's special about staying in a tree house

Our tree houses stand on stilts in the middle of nature - with a unique view of the surrounding landscape. You are surrounded by meadow orchards, alder forest and biotopes, which you can explore via an approx. 2 km long nature trail. Pure nature as far as the eye can see.

📍 O ur 25-hectare site is part of the "Bungsberg mit Vorland" nature reserve on the edge of the village of Wangels. The Bungsberg - the highest point in Schleswig-Holstein - is right on our doorstep and makes your experience in the tree house a real nature moment.

Many guests combine their overnight stay in the tree house with an active day at the Baltic Sea - from a visit to the beach to a bike tour through Ostholstein.

The Ostsee Baumhaushotel is located in the north of Germany on the Baltic Sea coast near the towns of Heiligenhafen, Fehmarn and Weissenhäuser Strand, slightly inland on the edge of the village of Wangels by an alder forest.

Our resort in nature - a place with a view

Surrounded by greenery, nestled in a small natural area between fruit trees, meadows, wild hedges, fields and the alder quarry: this is the location of our Baltic tree house hotel. The map shows you an overview of the entire site - from the small pond and the tree house spa to the farm shop, the Tiny Houses and the tree houses at treetop level. On the left of the picture is the approx. 2 km long private nature trail.

Here you will find plenty of space between the individual areas - for privacy, tranquillity and a real feeling of nature.
