Our tree houses are built from natural and certified materials, predominantly wood from sustainable forestry. The construction in natural colours and Scandinavian style blends harmoniously into the surroundings. All tree houses are built on stilts to protect nature and the sensitive ecosystem of the nature reserve. The seamless integration of the architecture into the landscape is part of the nature-oriented concept, which is part of the project-specific development plan.

The 25-hectare site of the tree house hotel is part of the 9,017-hectare Bungsberg landscape conservation area. By renaturalising the farmland to create orchards and ponds, we have created habitats for numerous animal and plant species. Our guests can observe deer, foxes and rare bird species in their natural environment.

We, the team at the Baumhaushotel, promote the regional economy by working closely with local suppliers. Our guests can expect fresh, regional dishes with ingredients from local farmers. We also focus on short transport routes to minimise our carbon footprint.

Our tree houses are equipped with water-saving taps and shower heads to reduce water consumption. At the same time, we promote sustainable cleaning of the accommodation with environmentally friendly cleaning agents and deliberately avoid the use of aggressive chemicals. Towels and bed linen are changed at the guests' request.

From digital check-in to QR codes for guest information - we minimise the use of paper wherever possible and rely on digital processes.

The local population was involved in the planning of the tree house hotel on several levels. At the very beginning, when the development plan was being drawn up. Comments and suggestions for improvement were taken into account. The co-operation with the guild on the use of the facility is being continued and local tradesmen are being commissioned for most of the construction work. The building of the traditional Zur Linde pub will also be retained and continue to be used. In addition, a farm shop will be created, which will not only supply tourists but also strengthen the village centre for the neighbourhood.

We also use LED lighting and appliances with the best energy efficiency class.
