Around the Ostsee Baumhaus Hotel , an approximately 2 km long nature trail invites you to explore the surrounding nature of our private, 17-hectare area.
The path leads through a typical North German cultural landscape, which is being renaturalised piece by piece. Here you will find native tree species such as oaks, beeches, hawthorns and chestnuts and, with a bit of luck, you may spot deer, hares or the rare pheasant.
Birds such as the great spotted woodpecker and great tit nest in the trees and hedges, while the occasional buzzard circles in the sky. Smaller animals such as squirrels and hedgehogs are also at home here.
The hiking trail at the tree house hotel is perfect for a relaxing walk, even with dogs on a lead. Take time for a reading break or enjoy a picnic surrounded by nature.
Along the way, you will reach the highest point on the site - 64 metres above sea level - from where you have a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea in good weather. This is only around 3.9 kilometres away.
The nature trail was specially created by the Ostsee Baumhaus Hotel to bring our guests closer to the beauty of nature and to create an awareness of how to treat the environment with respect. It is a quiet retreat that offers you the opportunity to experience the flora and fauna of the region in their natural state.

Right next to the tree houses is our 5,000m2 meadow orchard, which has been planted with (still very young, planted in 2025) regional fruit trees such as plums, apples, cherries and pears.
Our orchard creates a natural transition zone between the tree houses and the surrounding nature. Our guests can explore the meadow on a walk or simply enjoy the special atmosphere created by the interplay of nature and sustainable design.
The different varieties of fruit are not only a highlight at blossom and harvest time, but also contribute to the preservation of regional biodiversity, as they provide a valuable habitat for native animal and plant species. An idyllic sight awaits you in front of the Ostsee Baumhaushotel: Extensive meadows where our peaceful Galloways graze. These robust Galloway cattle, originally from Scotland, are not only an eye-catcher, but also actively contribute to the maintenance of the landscape. Their calm demeanour and characteristic shaggy coat make them a special attraction right in front of your tree house.
