The construction in natural colours and Scandinavian style blends harmoniously into the surroundings. All tree houses are built on stilts to protect nature and the sensitive ecosystem of the nature reserve. The seamless integration of the architecture into the landscape is part of the nature-oriented concept, which is part of the project-specific development plan.

The 25-hectare site of the tree house hotel is part of the 9,017-hectare Bungsberg landscape conservation area. By renaturalising the farmland to create orchards and ponds, we have created habitats for numerous animal and plant species. Our guests can observe deer, foxes and rare bird species in their natural environment.

Which animals and plants can I observe in the neighbourhood?

In the area surrounding the Ostsee Baumhaus Hotel, you can observe animals such as fallow deer, foxes, badgers, eagles, buzzards, falcons and many other bird species. The vegetation includes typical North German knickwalls with trees such as oak, beech, hawthorn and chestnut.

Were the neighbours involved in the planning?

The local population was involved in the planning of the tree house hotel on several levels. At the very beginning, when the development plan was being drawn up. Comments and suggestions for improvement were taken into account. The co-operation with the guild on the use of the facility is being continued and local tradesmen are being commissioned for most of the construction work. The building of the traditional Zur Linde pub will also be retained and continue to be used. In addition, a farm shop will be created, which will not only supply tourists but also strengthen the village centre for the neighbourhood.

If you are travelling without a car, the nearest regional train station in Oldenburg in Holstein is around 10 km away. We are happy to organise a transfer from the station to the hotel on request.
